Q4 2023 Roundup: Australia's Top Android Carpooling & Ridesharing Apps

As the year 2023 came to a close, the carpooling and ridesharing market in Australia saw various trends across the top Android applications, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here's a look at how these apps fared in the fourth quarter.

Uber - Request a ride maintained its popularity with downloads peaking at around 20K in the final week of November before dipping to approximately 9K by the end of December. Weekly active users showed a similar trend with a high of over 430K in the third week of November and a slight decrease to around 380K by the year's end.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides also experienced fluctuating download numbers, with a high of over 12K in late November. The app's weekly active users gradually increased throughout the quarter, reaching nearly 159K in the second week of December before falling to around 128K by Christmas.

The companion app for drivers, Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, saw its downloads remain relatively stable, hovering around 3K to 4K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users saw a steady increase, peaking at around 74K in the third week of December.

Bolt: Request a Ride maintained a steady but modest presence in the market, with downloads ranging from 1K to around 1.1K. Active users showed a slight uptick, ending the quarter with a little over 9K weekly active users.

Lastly, DiDi Driver: Drive & Earn Cash recorded downloads that fluctuated between 700 and 1.1K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users remained under 4K, with a minor increase observed towards the end of December.
